This Website is a work in progress. It has been funded by The Liverpool SSE -The School for Social Entrepreneurs based at Blackburne House. My thanks go to Sylvia Pearson, Director of SSE Liverpool for her encouragement and ongoing financial support to the development of the Social Enterprise that is Turn it Around.

My thanks must also go to Ken Wynchcote and young Jamie, I thank them for their patience whilst teaching me new skills.

Whilst the website is still under construction you are welcome to view the current information. Simply click on the menu bars and gain an insight into the work of this new Community Interest Company (CIC).

In keeping with the fundamental principles of empowerment and inclusion of young people, this website will be developed with the help of the client group.

Here is what one parent recently said about the work being undertaken by Turn It Around:

''I am the parent of a young girl whom at the age of 12 found herself under a yot order lasting eighteen months, during the year previous we as a family suffered a great loss in the death of my partner, I feel these circumstances and the fact that my daughter had been bullied led to her acting out of character, due to peer pressure and the need to just fit in with the crowd.

Since attending yot and meeting Debra Kurs my daughter has gained in confidence immensely and has really found herself and began the long process of learning to love herself and appreciate the gifts and talents she has.

It has not been an easy road by a long shot as due to her behaviour at the time our relationship suffered a lot. The one constant we both seemed to take strength from was having the support of Debra. You really are an amazing talent, no-one else I know can get a teenager out of their bed as quick as you can! You generate such a positive influence it's hard for my daughter to stay negative around you for long.

My daughter has really grown into someone I am very proud of, ok she isn't perfect but who is? I have you to thank for getting her to where she is today, I just know the life skills you have taught her will make her a strong confident young woman, a force to be reckoned with! My daughter loves herself now and believes in her own worth, this is no easy task you undertook and over the three years we have known you, you have never faltered in your positive guidance toward my daughter's progress and well-being.

My daughter has had some really down times in her life and there were days when she had no motivation whatsoever yet with your consistent but gentle prodding she has managed to attend workshops and recording studios and film clubs, not to mention her creative writing course which she loved doing with Alison Downes.

I wish to thank you from the bottom of my heart Debra but to be honest the proof of your positive involvement is in the way my daughter feels about herself today, it's so good to hear her talk and laugh and be at ease in herself. I can't and don't want to imagine what her attitude and outlook would be today without your input into her life. Many, many thanks and keep up the fantastic work! For myself and my daughter you really did "Turn it Around"!;-)"
